I am the learner’s advocate.
I have worked in several capacities: instructional designer, learning management system administrator, learning specialist, program manager, public speaker, and corporate consultant. It all comes back to my true job is to act as the learner’s advocate.
Often when training or learning is developed, the learner can get lost in the shuffle of technologies, budgets, graphics, and stakeholder demands. As a learning professional, it is up to me to be the voice of the learner and put myself in their shoes as they are taking the training.
